This last week has been tough, with so many things going wrong, and to top it all, I had a reaction to peanut butter that had gluten in it – yeah – go figure… I felt lost and unable to make clear decisions about anything.

I did whinge, swear, cry and journal the crap out of it, remembering to also write about the good stuff and what I was grateful for. It helped to share my feelings and see that others are also feeling the grunge too. But what really shifted my energy was having a delicious sound bath on Sunday.

That evening after walking the girls and listening the to sound of much-needed rain, I decided I needed the wisdom of the oracle cards and decided on a new ritual to support my decision-making process.

This was an experiment which I loved. The hardest part was leaving it all overnight and checking in the morning.

I wrote a series of things on Post-it notes, folded and shuffled them and asked others to choose a number for me.


I also chose 8 self-love oracle cards because I had 8 choices I was considering. One of which was just to give up!

The next morning I shuffled them all up again and asked my body’s wisdom with a sway test for priorities one and two. After which, I turned over the cards and looked at the messages. My first priority was 4, then 3.

So, my friends, this is what I read into the cards for you and myself. I hope that they make sense and help you.

Card 1: Sacral Chakra – Ritual Body Worship

You have chosen the Sacral Chakra, which is associated with pleasure, creativity, and sensuality. This card invites you to explore your relationship with your body and cultivate gratitude for all it does for you. As cliched as it is, your body is a temple, and you have the power to heal and transform it through self-love and self-care. You may be feeling disconnected or ashamed of your physical form, or you may be struggling with issues related to sexuality or intimacy. It is time to release these limiting beliefs and embrace and love your body.

Instead, you can learn to nourish your body, develop a deeper connection with yourself, and create a loving body ritual to honour and celebrate your divine temple.

There are many ways that you can create a loving ritual, such as:

  • Mindful Eating: Nourishing your body begins with the food you consume. Choose fresh, healthy, and vibrant foods that provide energy and nutrients. When you eat, savour each bite, appreciating your meal’s flavours, textures, and aromas. Listen to what your body wants and be mindful of any reactions.
  • Movement and Dance: The simplest thing is to put music on and dance like no one is watching. My dogs love this…
  • Sensual Bathing Ritual: Luxuriate in a bath with essential oils or add Epsom salts for cleansing, rejuvenation, and release of any tension or stress. Light candles and play soothing music. I am jealous of anyone with a bath, as I no longer have one.
  • Self-Massage: Self-massage is a powerful way to connect with your body, promote relaxation, and stimulate energy flow. As you massage your body, send love and appreciation to each part, thanking your body for all she does for you.
  • Gratitude Practice: Develop a daily gratitude practice, focusing on the blessings your body provides.

Integrating these nourishing practices and body rituals into your daily life can strengthen your connection with your Sacral Chakra and your body. Whatever you choose, approach it with gratitude, and allow yourself to fully immerse in the experience.

Card 2: Healing – Ho’oponopono

You have chosen the Healing card, which is, in this instance, associated with the Hawaiian practice of Ho’oponopono. This card invites you to embrace the power of forgiveness and release any negative energy that may hold you back from experiencing joy and inner peace.

This card is important because it has appeared at a time when you are ready to let go of old wounds and patterns that no longer serve you. You may be experiencing physical or emotional pain or struggling with difficult relationships or situations. Whatever the case, this card offers a powerful healing and transformation tool.

The challenge this card highlights is the need to let go of resentment and blame and embrace forgiveness as a path to healing. You may be holding onto anger or hurt or struggling to forgive yourself or others. It is time to release these negative emotions and embrace the healing power of love and forgiveness.


You may have heard of Ho’oponopono – to make right. Which is made up of four seemingly simple statements

  • I’m sorry,
  • Please forgive me,
  • Thank you,
  • I love you.

The combination of remorse, forgiveness, gratitude and love is powerful. The power is in the feeling, the energy you release to the Universe, remembering that like energy attracts like energy.

Apologies list (them and you)

I was discussing the word forgiveness and its power and energy with some friends. I realised that it was easier for me to use the word apology. In this exercise, choose what word works for you. Write two lists.

  • One – all of the people you think ‘should’ apologise to you
  • Two – all of the people or things that you ‘should’ apologise to

People may appear on both sides, which can be quite an eye-opener. This is when standing in someone else’s shoes and feeling their pain, and seeing things from a different perspective may help you.

To gain this new perspective, I invite you to imagine yourself surrounded by a beautiful, healing light. See this light as a source of love and compassion. Allow it to wash away any negative emotions or energy holding you back. As you visualise this light, repeat the affirmation: “I am open to the healing power of forgiveness, and I choose to release all that no longer serves me. I am worthy of love, compassion, and inner peace.”

On your apologies sheet of paper, write the four Ho’oponopono statements. Then, place your hands on the paper, take a few deep breaths, feel the flow of the energy of ho’oponopono into your heart, let go and let love as you go through your list, saying each statement. Finally, allow processing to take place and reflect on what you have learned.

Then and this is something I do, burn the paper and let it all go.

Card 3: Third Eye Chakra – Soul Lesson – Perception

The Third Eye Chakra is associated with intuition, insight, and perception. This card invites you to explore the power of your inner wisdom and to trust your intuition as a guide on your spiritual journey to learning about the soul lesson – perception.

This soul lesson is about taking a few deep breaths and seeing things differently. Sometimes we jump in without thinking. But you are being called to connect with the guidance you receive corroborating your emotions at the sacral, gut feelings at the solar plexus and divine inner wisdom at the heart. This chakra acts as our guiding light in life, allowing us to see solutions, be objective, and be clear-headed. Here we can bridge left and right-brained thinking and get our most significant insights.

This card offers you the opportunity to connect with your inner truth and discover new insights and perspectives. Perception is everything. What comes in through our senses is processed through our filters and becomes our truth. This is imprinted in our minds, and so it is. Our perceptions and filters colour what we believe to be the truth. In reverse, what we think also becomes our truth.

This card asks you to release the illusions holding you back from clarity and truth. You may feel separated from all that is dear to you, which is why you can’t see things clearly. What illusions do you put in the way of challenging and changing your perspective?

You may want to practice meditation or mindfulness to quiet your mind and connect with your intuition, or you may want to journal or reflect on your experiences to gain greater clarity and insight.

The thought report can be used when you want some clarity about an event. For example, something may have happened which triggered a reaction in you. These are sometimes unpleasant experiences that you would like to have handled differently. As in, you perceived things one way, and that might not be the truth of the situation. Think of a situation that you want to review and reflect on. Go through each of these.

  • Situation – describe the situation you found yourself in. What was your perception of it?
  • Emotions – describe the emotions you felt, both positive and negative.
  • Thoughts – what thoughts came into your head, both positive and negative?
  • Evidence – what evidence do you have both for and against the events? Have you been in a similar situation before? What strengths do you bring to this situation? Make sure you see the whole picture.
  • Alternatives – now that you have considered the facts, what is a different, healthier way to view the situation?
  • Learn – what have you learned about yourself and others? What will you do next time?
  • What will you now do differently?

I invite you to sit quietly and focus on your breath. As you breathe deeply and slowly, imagine a beam of light shining down from the sky and entering through the top of your head. See this light as a source of wisdom and insight, and allow it to fill your body with its radiance. As you do so, repeat the affirmation: “I trust in the power of my intuition, and I am open to new insights and perspectives. I am wise and choose to trust in my inner guidance.”

Card 4: Throat Chakra – Ritual, Sound Healing

You have chosen the Throat Chakra, which is associated with communication, expression, and creativity. This card appears when you may be struggling to communicate your truth or express yourself fully. You may feel unheard, misunderstood or hold back your true feelings or desires. This card offers you the opportunity to tap into your inner creativity and find your voice.

The throat chakra is how you communicate, listen and understand. Many personal transformations can occur here when you finally learn to find your voice and speak your truth. It is from here you can communicate and express your creativity and divine inner wisdom. You may find yourself being sensitive to the power of others’ words or thinking about how you speak to yourself and others. It also influences your ability to actively listen to and hear others, which is how you create your foundation for understanding.

When this chakra is balanced, you can express yourself well, communicate clearly and listen to your intuitive inner voice. In terms of manifesting, opening your throat and speaking your truth will enable you to express confidently what you want and who you are.

The throat chakra is blocked by lies which close down your communication centre and your right to hear and speak the truth. It is affected by the lies that we tell ourselves and the lies that we tell others. By releasing any lies, you can gain perspective and clearly communicate with integrity with the world. Ask, what part about yourself are you in denial with? What lies do you tell others and yourself – and why? Who will you be when you no longer feel the need to hide behind lies? When you dare to express who you are and what you stand for, the lies you may tell or the deceptions will disappear, and you will be more honest with yourself and others.

This card highlights the challenge of overcoming fear or self-doubt of speaking your truth with confidence and clarity. You may be afraid of being judged or rejected or struggle to find the right words to express yourself. This card is here to tell you it is time to release these fears and embrace the power of your authentic voice.

A great way to start the practice of speaking your truth is in front of a mirror or with a trusted friend or partner, or you may want to explore new forms of creative expression, such as singing or writing.

To gain a new perspective, I invite you to find a hill or cliff top – somewhere high where no one can hear you and scream. Open your arms and scream. Release everything that doesn’t serve you. By letting go, you will open up the space to hear what you need to hear.

Card 5: Sacral Chakra – Soul Lesson – Surrender

This card invites you to release control and surrender to the flow of life, trusting that everything happens for your highest good. Surrendering is about acceptance and letting go of the outcome. In other words, set your intention and let it flow. Sometimes it’s about understanding that you have invested too much in chasing something that is not for you. So accept, and let it go. In letting go, you make space for what is meant to be in your life. This is when what is possible can enter. When you fight for what you want, it can become a battle. When you get stuck on how things ‘should’ be, you push for them to come about in a way that is not aligned with your heart and soul.

Have you been taught to never give up, soldier on or keep going until the end is in sight? So what do you do or feel like when you don’t get what you want despite all the struggles? Scream? Get ill or angry? Eat rubbish? This is when surrender and acceptance are your best friends.

You may be clinging to old patterns or beliefs, or you may be resisting change or growth. You may feel anxious or fearful about the future, or you may struggle to let go of the past. This card offers you the opportunity to let go and surrender to the flow of life. Release control and trust in the wisdom of the Universe and your heart.

It is time to release these fears and surrender to the present moment. Let it go, let it flow, reframe and refocus. When you change the energy, everything changes.

I invite you to sit in a quiet place and imagine yourself floating in a calm, peaceful sea. See yourself surrendering to the ebb and flow of the waves, allowing them to carry you effortlessly towards your destination. As you do so, repeat the affirmation: “I surrender to the flow of life, trusting that everything happens for my highest good. I am open to new opportunities and experiences, and I trust in the wisdom of the Universe and my heart.”

Card 6: Heart Chakra – Soul Lesson – Joy

You have chosen the Heart Chakra, focusing on joy as a soul lesson. Joy as a soul lesson is the profound understanding that true happiness, inner peace and contentment come from within. It is the ability to embrace and appreciate the simple pleasures of life, no matter the circumstances. As a soul lesson, joy teaches us that our inner state is not solely determined by external factors but by changing our perspective, acceptance, courage and connection to the wisdom of the heart.

Children are masters of living in the present moment, unburdened by the concerns of the past or worries about the future. Their ability to focus on the here and now allows them to fully engage with their surroundings, experiencing life as it unfolds before them. So how can you do the same? They also approach the world with curiosity, eager to explore and learn about their environment. They are not afraid to ask questions, experiment, and discover, filling their lives with excitement and wonder. Their approach to life is an inspiring reminder of the simple pleasures and genuine happiness that can be found when we reconnect with our inner child.

You may be struggling with difficult emotions or situations, or you may be feeling overwhelmed or stressed. This card highlights the challenge of letting go of negativity or limiting beliefs blocking your ability to experience joy. You may be holding onto old wounds or patterns or focusing on the negative aspects of your life. It is time to release these patterns and embrace the power of joy.

Often we forget about the simple things in life that bring us joy and connect us with the spirit within. This is a lovely way to remind yourself of the things that bring us joy and connect us back with our spirit. This is a simple practice that asks you to make some time for yourself. Make an A to Z list of things that bring you joy. Pick one a day or one a week and do it. Reflect in your journal on how that makes you feel, and do it again and again.

Card 7: Aura Chakra – Astral Travel

This card has appeared because you are ready to explore the mysteries of the Universe and to connect with your higher self and spiritual guides. Astral travel is the idea that you can leave your body and travel to other realms to meet your guides. This is where you are not constrained by the limitations of your physical body. Instead, you can move freely through different planes of existence and gather insights and wisdom.

But you may be feeling blocked, and there can be many reasons for that. For example, fear and doubt can create a barrier between you and your guides, making it difficult to trust their guidance or acknowledge their presence. Overthinking or busyness can create mental clutter, making it difficult to tune into the subtle messages and insights surrounding you. You may also be disconnected from your intuition, making it challenging to discern the messages and guidance.

Start simply by reconnecting with your intuition. Remember to set boundaries for protection. Let’s say, for example, you have decided on some guidance, asked the question and asked for a sign. If you are visual, you can expect to see a sign. Likewise, if you are auditory, you may hear a song; if you are kinesthetic, you’ll get a feeling. The key here is to be open and curious. Signs can arrive in the oddest of ways.

Sit quietly now, where you won’t be distracted for a few minutes. Scan the area around you, taking in all details and feelings of where you are. Then close your eyes and focus on your breath. Breathe deeply and slowly as you mentally review what caught your attention when you scanned the room. Was it the sight of something, the sound of something, the feeling of something, a taste or smell? Perhaps you got a thought or a knowing?

To foster a connection with your spiritual guides, establish a regular meditation practice to quiet your mind and create a receptive state for receiving guidance from your higher self and spiritual guides. I find it hard to sit quietly and find a guided meditation (try Insight Timer) helpful. Ask your guides to let you know when they are near. This can come in many ways, and you need to be open.

Once you have explored your connections with your guides, you are ready for astral travel. Start by setting an intention that you want to travel to other realms to meet your guides. In your imagination, float up through the room you are in, up, up until you are in the stars and on the astral plane. Look for your sign or a symbol and ask your guide to show themselves. Imagine chatting with them as a friend would and asking for guidance for whatever is on your mind. When you are ready, come back through the stars to Earth and into your body. Journal what comes up for you.

Card 8: Crown Chakra – I Am Who I Am

This card has appeared at a time when you may be feeling uncertain or insecure about your identity or purpose. You may be struggling to find your place in the world or feeling disconnected from your true self. As a result, you feel doubtful and unsure of how to express yourself. Fear, uncertainty, doubt and low self-worth may be affecting your ability to feel confident about who you are, what you do and how you show up. Confidence has a lot to do with liking who you are. In fact, I’d say it’s deeper than that. It’s about self-love and acceptance.

We all have knowledge, skills and experiences that are stashed away in our inner resources container. But something sometimes stops us from trusting and believing that we have the right to access and use them. What probably happens is that you take something on or are asked to do something, and suddenly, self-doubt creeps in, and you start asking, can I do this, and can I be this person?

Ask what the worst thing could happen when you try something new or scary. Then, decide to give something a go because learning something new about yourself is the best thing that could happen. That is one step closer to becoming the you, you most desire.

If you are feeling that disconnection, pick yourself up and remind yourself that the people around you do not define you and that what they do or say is a reflection of them and their life.

We spend our lives pursuing doing better, being better, and finding perfect happiness and success. We ride the wave of excitement at the thought of becoming who we want to be… then we ride the wave back down with disappointment because we’ve tried and failed once again.

The good news is that it’s possible to change no matter how often you fail. You just haven’t yet found your answer to becoming the incredible person you know you were meant to be. While at the same time, remember that you are already wonderful!

Often it is that your current habits and patterns are holding you back. What you think about yourself and believe about yourself holds you hostage–no matter how many self-help books you read or how badly you want to change. You believe it can’t happen if you don’t have the “secret sauce.”

You’re walking a certain path right now – we all are. It’s possibly not ideal for you, and you’re not getting to where you want to go. But the path is well-worn, and it’s easygoing. It’s comfortable, too, because it’s so familiar and non-threatening. It’s simply what you’re used to. So start to envision a better one.

This new path will take you in new directions and lead you exactly where you want to go and who you want to become. You will protect this new path with the best actions, emotions, and reactions to handling whatever life throws your way. It might be uncomfortable initially, but if you commit yourself, you’ll start to feel great about leaving that old path behind.

Now it’s time to dare to dream. You’re not just going to dream about becoming the person you are hiding. You’re going to make it happen. Think of your life as if you were writing a novel. What would you do if you could wave a magic wand and create whatever kind of life you want? Write a character sketch of yourself. What do you look like? What kind of work do you do? How do you run your business and home? Where do you live? How successful are you? Who do you spend your time with? In which ways are you fulfilled? What major goals have you accomplished? What do you do with your free time? Who do you want to become?

Let your mind run free with this exercise. Don’t censor yourself— you’re daring to dream without censorship. The truth is that you can be whoever you want to be. You might be surprised at what you discover by letting your mind run free.
