Wheel Of Life: New Moon In Capricorn 2024

by | Jan 11, 2024 | Personal Development

Like all new moons, the New Moon in Capricorn on January 11, 2024, provides lots of potential for personal transformation. In this article, we’ll consider some of the astrological aspects of this New Moon and explore how it can influence our personal and spiritual growth. We will also discuss this time for reviewing and resetting our life goals, particularly through the lens of the Wheel of Life, a powerful tool for self-assessment and goal setting. I’ll also look at the energy of Capricorn alongside the root chakra.

The New Moon is considered a time for new beginnings. This phase can be ideal for brainstorming, planning, and setting new goals. It’s a good time for launching new projects or laying the groundwork for future initiatives.

However, remember that although we are in January, the astrological new year will begin on March 20. So, there is no rush to launch into anything. Use this time to play with new ideas.

New Moon in Capricorn

This New Moon finds itself in the sign of Capricorn. Capricorn is known for its responsibility, discipline, and long-term planning. There is also a call for deep transformation and the shedding of old patterns. I have felt this, and at the start of the year, I went through a letting go process, which I will revisit later today. Things feel different, but I can’t quite put my finger on it.

It feels like I need to consider balancing the need for expansion with disciplined action. And without realising it, I have been introspective and set meaningful, long-term goals.

Capricorn And The Root Chakra

Root – Foundations and the right to be here

The root chakra is located at the base of the spine, at the tailbone in the back and the pubic bone in front. The right of this chakra is simply to be here. It works with Capricorn.

Needs

The root chakra is about your needs for survival, security, safety, trust, belonging, health and wellbeing, family, past life issues, home and money. This is where you will want to create a home, not only to live in but also your home on Earth and the home you make in your body. When we think of the root chakra, we think of grounding and connecting with Mother Earth. This chakra supports the upward flow of energy from Mother Earth.

Balanced

When balanced, you feel grounded in the present and able to confidently release the fears that hold you back from growing into who you want to become. You will feel safe and secure in yourself. You’ll trust yourself and the decisions you make. Home feels welcoming and cosy. You feel like you belong. You get enormous satisfaction from being in nature and breathing in fresh air. Balancing this chakra lays the foundations for the chakras above it.

Manifesting

You have a great base to manifest what you want when you have healthy roots and foundations. You will trust that abundance is available and feel at home asking for what you want.

Root chakra – Fear

This chakra is blocked by fear, closing down our right to be here. When you identify the fear and its roots, you will begin to understand how to eliminate it. Ask yourself what you are afraid of the most, and what is the worst that can happen? Who will you be when you feel safe and secure?

In a nutshell

These are both perfect. We need to use this time to lay the foundations for what is to come, letting go of what doesn’t serve us and creating meaningful goals. This is a time to set intentions that align with your deepest ambitions and values. But you will need discipline and responsibility to manifest these goals, which the goat offers. Reflect and shed outdated beliefs and embrace a more authentic spiritual expression.

Reviewing the Wheel of Life and Goals

The Wheel of Life, as a coaching tool on your own or with a coach, offers a powerful and visually intuitive method to assess and reflect upon various aspects of your life. This wheel lets you visually map out your satisfaction levels in a series of key life areas, providing a holistic overview of your current state.

The Wheel of Life becomes particularly relevant under the New Moon in Capricorn. The wheel of life I use covers these areas:

Wheel Of Life
The Wheel Of Life
  1. Mental Wellness
  2. Physical Health
  3. Spiritual Growth
  4. Emotional Well-being
  5. Environment
  6. Life’s Mission
  7. Financial Security
  8. Professional Development

By examining each segment of the wheel, you can identify areas needing attention and set balanced, realistic goals. If you have done your wheel of life assessment, today is a great day to review these areas and the goals you set. You may have done it and tucked it away…

Embracing Your Unique Goal-Setting Style

Recognising and embracing your unique approach to setting and achieving goals is how you will accomplish your goals. Not everyone thrives under strict routines; some may find success in more flexible and creative approaches. Take some time to explore different goal-setting techniques and identify what resonates with you. Whether you’re a detailed planner or a big-picture thinker, understanding your style can significantly enhance your ability to set achievable goals. The key is to align your goal-setting methods with your personal strengths (take a look at the Clifton Strengths Finder) and preferences, ensuring a more natural and effective path to success.

Mind-Body And Energy

When I make decisions, I feel the energy and energy test them and consider the physical sensations and emotional responses when I tune into the choices I think I will make.

Mind-Body Connection and Decision-Making

Tuning into your body’s signals can provide valuable insights into what feels right or wrong, guiding you towards decisions that are in harmony with yourself. Practices such as meditation, yoga, going for a beautiful walk or simply quiet reflection can heighten this awareness and navigating life’s choices.

Feeling into the Energy of Your Decisions

Feeling into the energy of your decisions involves listening to your intuition and emotional responses. It’s about sensing the energy and potential of your choices. Does a decision make you feel anxious or excited? Does it align with your inner values? When you do a sway test, what response do you get? Learning to trust these feelings can lead to more authentic and fulfilling choices.

Practical Tips for Goal Achievement

Achieving the goals you set under the New Moon in Capricorn requires a blend of strategic planning and intuitive guidance. You are creating the foundations for success. Review your wheel of life and goals. Break down your goals into manageable steps and create a timeline for each. Remember to consider how you get things done. Embrace the discipline of Capricorn to stay on track but remain flexible to adapt as needed. Regularly check in with your progress and celebrate small victories along the way. Staying mindful of your mental and physical health is important, ensuring your goals are sustainable and balanced.

Journal Prompts for Reflection

Pick one that calls to you, come into your heart space, breathe and reflect on the question before you start to write. This article has some advice for getting connected before you write.

  • What areas of my life feel stagnant or in need of reassessment? How can I use this time for reflection and growth? What do I learn about what comes up, and what can I do?
  • What external circumstances or illusions have been clouding my perception? What do I learn when I tap into my inner wisdom for clarity?
  • What messages or synchronicities have I encountered recently that seem significant or magical? What do these mean to me?
  • In what ways can I create a more organised and balanced daily routine?
  • What long-term goals or aspirations can I break down into smaller, achievable steps? Which one will I do first, and how will I celebrate?
  • How can I nurture my physical and emotional well-being during this lunar cycle?
  • What practices help me feel grounded and connected to the Earth’s energy?
  • What are the strengths and resources within me can I rely on during times of uncertainty?
  • How can I express gratitude for the present moment and its wisdom?

Take some time to embrace the present moment, feel gratitude for what is to come and consider what possibilities there are for you in the void as you step into this new moon energy.

Let’s Say Goodbye To 2023

Whatever you have experienced in 2023, it is time to say goodbye, au revoir or adios. You can get the tools I use for this here.

You may be ready for a new beginning, which is what I am asking you to think about but to truly do that, you have to let go, which you can do by the next full moon. Emotions could be strong this week, so practice self-love and self-care.
